In the capital of armagnac graffiti is on the agenda with the Street’Art’Magnac festival
Street art paints the walls of houses with the Street Art’Magnac festival in the small town of Eauze, in Gers, a small community recognized as the capital of armagnac.
In France, street art is on the agenda with the Street’Art’Magnac festival, which has been running for five years with every arrival of the good weather. For this edition, 20 graffiti artists will participate.
And in such a small town of 4000 inhabitants, the frescoes do not go unnoticed. Its little streets are identified with the colours on the walls of the graffiti left each year after the festival. It is an event much awaited by the inhabitants of the place, an occasion to meet and discuss about the walls.
But another event happens during the festival. During this period, the organisers of the Street’Art’Magnac take the opportunity to discover the Bas-Armagnac.
“One day, a winegrower approached us to propose a wall for the feast. We then began to expand the event by a radius of fifteen kilometers around the city of Eauze and we thought it would be interesting to make a tour linking street art with the region.” Nicole Daugen, Street’Art’Festival.
