Lovely Lingfield Gin: a gin distilled with racetrack turf

Because they have decided not to do like anyone else, the ingredients and the winner’s reward are extraordinary.

George Hill, race director, commented: “We wanted the victory in Lingfield to be a little different, because we are one of the busiest[racetracks] in Europe.

The distiller, located in Dorking, created Lovely Lingfield Gin exclusively for the racecourse. The botanical plants come from the Lingfield Park estate: Bramley apples, lavender, rosehips, lemon mint and even track grass.

The new gin will be served in the bars on site and instead of a trophy, a bottle will be offered to the winning owners! Lovely Lingfield Gin is packaged in a porcelain bottle with the logo designed by Lingfield Park Resort.

Kate Gregory, co-founder of The Gin Kitchen, said: “We are delighted with the results. We had never used grass before, but we loved the idea. We had no idea how good it tasted!”

But apparently the taste has seduced since production has increased. To such an extent that production in a small base site will now take place in an 80 square metre barn.

Don’t drink and drive. Enjoy responsibly.
