New releases of Hibiki whisky and Yamazaki limited edition by Suntory

Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021 and Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 whiskies will be available worldwide on May 25th.

As we await the worldwide launch on May 25th for Hibiki Harmony 2021 and Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 whiskies, we’ll tell you a little bit about this novelty.

Whisky lovers will be happy to see the arrival of these Japanese whiskies. For those enthusiasts who are not familiar with them, Hibiki is the premium brand of blended whisky from Suntory. This range includes the Hibiki 21 year old whisky which won six times the award for Best Blended Whisky in the World at the World Whisky Awards.

Now, the Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021 is based on the classic Hibiki blended with whisky aged in cherry wood barrels. It is the first limited edition of Hibiki. As for the taste, Suntory explains that it is reminiscent of cherry blossoms (sakura), mellow on the palate with a rich and persistent finish.

Tasting Tip: In general, Hibiki whiskies are best enjoyed with almost any type of dish.

The 2021 Yamazaki Limited Edition is the first limited edition Yamazaki bottle since 2017. A whisky that has aged at least 12 years in Japanese mizunara oak barrels, a barrel that stands out for the complex notes of coconut, spices and incense it gives to the drink. Suntory adds that the tasting is smooth with a slightly smoky finish.

Tasting Tip: Yamazaki whiskies go well with slightly sweet foods. In addition to dishes made with soy sauce.

Both expressions will be available worldwide from May 25th and the suggested retail price of both is ¥ 8000, that is about 70 euros.
