Scotland. The Edrington Group’s Glenturret and Cutty Sark distilleries are for sale
The Edrington Group, owner of the Scotch whisky brands Glenturret and Cutty Sark, has put them both up for sale.
The Glenturret distillery also stores the production of The Famous Grouse whisky. Following the purchase of the brands, Edrington will offer blending and bottling facilities to its new owners. Furthermore, it is worht mentioning that the 31 employees of both brands will remain employed under the new owner.
According to Edrington Group management, the brand’s intention to sell is to promote other brands in its portfolio, specifically Macallan, which achieved 7% growth last year.
The process of selling both brands will begin this summer.
