It is the first gin distilled at the peak of the Snowdon, Welsh mountain at 1805 meters above sea level, by Aber Falls Distillery.

The Welsh distillery challenged itself to distil an exceptional gin. They climbed the Snowdon to its peak of the same name to distil the first gin at 1,805 metres above sea level. Summit Gin: Mountaineer’s Cut is its name. It was prepared with a one-litre copper pot still, with sloe berries, heather and other botanicals.

The purpose of the distillation of this gin whose production was unique, since only one edition was bottled, was to provide funds for the Wales Air Ambulance. The bottle was then put up for sale at the auction to benefit the organization that provides a free emergency medical service that saves lives of the seriously ill and injured in Wales.

Notably, Welsh bartender Alex Mills – and bartender of the year – of Cardiff’s Lab22 bar joined the adventure and created drinks with the theme of the Snowdon summit.
