When ageing whisky, distillers use various types of barrels. These vary from rum, to cognac and wine, and in our case, sherry. Whisky aged in this type of barrel has dimensions and sweet properties, with notes of nuts, dried fruit and a slight acidity.

Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish
It’s a bourbon whiskey with an ABV up to 45.2%. The bottle has the No Age Statement mention (NAS), that is, bottled without mentioning its age of maturation on the label. Distilled in MGP and aged in Nashville, Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish is an award-winning bourbon and has been hand-selected from reserve barrels. Its blend is transferred to Oloroso sherry barrels from Spain.
Tasting notes: dried fruits predominate and at the same time notes of wild flowers and caramel stand out. The high content of rye is appreciated with a sharp spicy burst. Notes of walnuts and vanilla pudding lead to a long-lasting nutty hint.
Bowmore Darkest Sherry Cask Finish
Bowmore is one of the oldest active scotch whisky distilleries. The Bowmore Darkest Sherry is a single malt scotch whisky 43% ABV . aged 15 years. It is aged for 12 years in former bourbon casks before being transferred to oloroso casks where it will mature for three years. This last process gives the whisky a very dark colour, which is why it carries the mention Darkest.
Tasting notes: dark fruits, dried sweet plums and dates with spices, raisins and a touch of espresso cream. Creamy, smoky caramel, oak, grainy malts and a hint of pine resin. The finish is dry, sweet and nutty thanks to the sherry.
Canadian Club Small Batch Sherry Cask
A Canadian whisky that should not go unnoticed. Aged for at least 8 years and distilled at the Canadian Club Distillery Windsor in Ontario. Apart from the reputation that whiskies with the mention “blended” on their label have, this whisky is very good. Produced in small batches in sherry and white oak casks, in which it spent 8 years.
Tasting notes: caramel, vanilla and oak. Bursts of sweet caramel, raisins and plum. The alcohol remains stable while the finish leads to a sudden warmth together with a long-lasting note brought by the sweetness of the sherry.
Redbreast Lustau Edition
Our best whiskies selection would not be complete without an Irish whiskey. That is why we include the Redbreast Lustau Edition, a single pot still style whiskey. This whisky is 46% ABV and ages between 10 and 13 years.
An infallible combination since it brings together the best of Irish whiskey, Redbreast, and the best of Spanish sherry, Lustau.
Lustau takes the triple-distilled malted barley blend and ages it between 9 and 12 years in former bourbon barrels. Then, they transfer the best of the best to Oloroso sherry barrels from the Lustau wineries in Spain. Definitely one of the best whiskies.
Tasting notes: dates, figs and plums with marzipan; spicy and toasted oak, and liquorice at the start. Dark fruits and spices are linger in taste with a clear sense of molasses and sweetness of sherry, with hints of nuts. The sherry note persists and leads us to the Spanish oak while the flavor fades in the senses.
