Brilliant Cocktail, or Coffee Negroni, by Dale DeGroff

Dale DeGroff, author of “The Craft of the Cocktail” and “The Essential Cocktail”, both best seller books, is a renowned awarded bartender from the United States.

His fame started at the Rainbow Room in the Rockefeller Center of New York. He is also the founder of the Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans, and a consultant at the Beverage Alcohol resource (BAR) group. He is part of the 70’s generation of bartenders, “when Mississippi Mudslides and Alabama Slammers were the craze”.

Now he mixes his knowledge with the modern trends of the current cocktail industry in a global scale. Hereunder, get to know the King of Cocktails’ “Brilliant Cocktail”.

 

Brilliant Cocktail, or Coffee Negroni

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Coffee/fennel mixture
  • 1 oz Carpano Formula Antica
  • 1 oz Beefeater Gin or Hendrick’s Gin
  • 2 teaspoons of ground fennel seeds
  • Orange slice for decoration purposes

 

Type of glass: Old-Fashioned glass

Directions:

Add all the ingredients to the Old-Fashioned glass filled with ice. Stir and garnish with your orange slice. Finally, drip 8 ounces of Lavazza Kilimanjaro Single Source Coffee grounds and 2 teaspoons of ground fennel seeds. Enjoy!
