Heineken Spain warns that bars and restaurants could run out of its beers
Heineken Spain has expressed its “great concern” about the impact that the transport strike is causing in its operations, in the business of its customers in the hospitality industry and commercial surfaces.
Mahou San Miguel also recognizes that is having “difficulties to operate”.
Heineken Spain also has warned that if the situation continues it will be unable to serve its products to commercial surfaces, bars and restaurants, and to stock up on raw materials, due to the “violent” pickets that prevent the normal operations of the company.
Faced with this “complex” situation, the brewery has “actively” demanded the involvement of public administrations to guarantee the freedom of movement of carriers who want to continue working, respecting the right of those who have decided to join the strike voluntarily. To this end, the company has assured that it is working “intensively” with different national and regional authorities, as well as with business and sector associations such as Cerveceros de España and Fiab.
“Regretting the difficult scenario facing the transport sector, Heineken España trusts that it can be resolved as soon as possible and does not further affect all those who are also suffering its consequences, such as the agri-food sector as a whole, hoteliers, commercial establishments and, of course, consumers,” he said.
For its part, Mahou San Miguel has acknowledged that they are having “difficulties to operate” due to the transport strike, which has been going on for a week and is impacting its operations, according to sources from the Spanish brewery. The owner of Mahou, San Miguel, Solán de Cabras and Alhambra, which has eight brewing centers in Spain and four water springs with their bottling plants, has reiterated that it is “supplying and trying to have maximum flexibility and guaranteeing the safety of all“.
