Negroni and Margarita, meet these two cocktail classics
If we mention the Negroni and the Margarita, what do you think? Classic cocktails, right. But which of the two suits your taste better? We’ll show you the differences.
The Negroni
This cocktail, whose origin is still being discussed today, was created according to sources in 1919 in the city of Florence. Its ingredients are the classic London Dry gin, Campari and mild vermouth. Very successful, the Negroni ranks second among the best-selling classic cocktails of 2019.
Its preparation is very simple. Three ingredients, a glass, a mixing spoon and an orange is all you need to prepare it. The quality of your ingredients and the measures will make you more than anything else the perfect Negroni.
The Negroni is also a cocktail that is highly praised by the cocktail scene. In 2019, the cocktail is 100 years old. That’s why, for a long time, one week a year is dedicated to it. Negroni Week lasts seven days and is held in June. With this celebration classic Negroni recipes and even its variations are prepared to celebrate its creation and to collect funds for charity.
To date, the most expensive Negroni has a price of 1000$. It was sold at the Lot 45 bar and is created with black truffle, caviar and edible platinum flakes.

The Margarita
Tequila lovers love a Margarita, and the funny thing is that those who don’t usually drink tequila also enjoy tasting a margarita. Created in 1938 in Tijuana by restaurant owner Carlos Herrera, the Margarita was inspired by a Ziegfeld showgirl.
Simple, like the Negroni, it is based on three ingredients: tequila, lemon juice and triple sec. Choosing the right tequila will give a special touch to the cocktail, besides being easy to prepare.
Unlike Negroni, the Margarita does not have a whole week dedicated to it, but it does celebrate its day, February 22nd.
A Margarita cocktail was sold for $1,200 at a New York bar, The London Bar. The recipe, contains a rare Patron tequila in Lalique and Louis XIII Cognac.
