United Kingdom. Black Cow Vodka Gold Top Cup competition closes its applications on July 31st
Black Cow Vodka, the distillery in West Dorset, UK, hosts the Gold Top Cup every summer, a cocktail competition to inspire and encourage the best, most inventive and imaginative mixologists. This year’s nominations close on July 31st.
This year’s competition focuses on the zero-waste cocktail target to promote sustainability in the industry. Also in a food + drink pairing. To qualify, each bartender must develop a pairing plate and cocktail, using the by-product of the plate, for the cocktail. The finals will take place on 5 and 6 September. The winner will be Gold Top Cup Winner 2018 champion, awarded this year’s handmade Gold Top Cup and $1000 prize money.
Black Cow Vodka is known for its vodka preparation method and its main ingredient: the whey. The projetct was born after analyzing the dairy market and understanding that an excessive amount of whey is obtained from the production of cheese. Black Cow is produced from a creamy beer made from whey, then distilled through a secret distillation process.
