tom collins cocktail recipe and glass

Let’s prepare a Tom Collins cocktail perfect for summer

The beautiful days of summer are here for many countries around the world, and what better than a Tom Collins to cool us down?

The Tom Collins is inscribed in the list of classic cocktails of reference, it is naturally refreshing and therefore perfect for the summer. There is also a glass named after it, the famous Collins Glass. It is slightly longer than the Highball and narrower in diameter. They contain more or less 295 to 470ml.

Origins of the Tom Collins

It is not known for certain when the recipe was invented, but it dates from some period in the 19th century and was modernized with the advent of sparkling water. Its creator was named John Collins (not Tom Collins, you probably thought…).

The Tom Collins is one of those basic cocktails that is so pleasant and protean that it is all too easy to forget that it is, in itself, one of the best drinks ever made.
