Valentino Bau, bartender passionate about armagnac
Valentino has been working in this renowned restaurant for ten years now, created by Michel and Alain Roux, which has been rated three stars by the Michelin guide for more than thirty years. This restaurant offers armagnacs with no less than thirty brandies from at least ten different Houses.
Valentino went to Armagnac for the first time. “I wanted to discover the region, the houses and meet the producers” he says. I’m not disappointed! It is an incredible experience to see the passion behind each House. We only notice this when we are in contact with the Armagnac people. I am convinced that this passion cannot be found anywhere else but here“.
The bartender underlines: “the welcome, hospitality and generosity of the Houses. The attention to detail makes all the difference and I have discovered many new things“.
Valentino often advises his customers on armagnac “They ask me for a whisky or cognac but I try to convince them to choose an armagnac. You have to find a spirit for them that meets their usual tastes… Usually, I manage to surprise them pleasantly. In my bar, I also serve white wine for cocktails. I came here to understand and learn, I leave with a wealth of knowledge and even more passion for this noble product” he adds, smiling.
